Our Accreditations and What They Mean

by Francesca Coleman Carr

Here at Sash Windows we like to know that we are being the best business we can be. That’s why we have many accreditations to our name that we hold dear. These companies help us to maintain a high standard of service to all our customers. Below, we have listed our accreditations with explanations of what they mean so that you can explore them as well. Trust us, they have all given us exceptional service and are helping us to do the same for our customers.

Checkatrade.com

Last year alone, over 6 million people trusted Checkatrade.com to help them find a reputable trades-person. Checkatrade was founded in 1998 by Kevin Byrne with a goal to get rid of rogue traders and cowboys. That is why the company run strict background checks on tradespeople before they can become members. Once they join, they agree to have feedback from their customers put online for public viewing. The public feedback and thorough background checks ensure that only reliable and trusted tradespeople get work through Checkatrade. They make sure you find someone outstanding to get the job done.

British Safety Council

Excellent Health and Safety standards are now a legal requirement in every aspect of British life. The British Safety Council has been constantly improving the safety standards of the British workplace for decades. In fact, no other organisation has worked as tirelessly as the British Safety Council to make our workplaces safe. The British Safety Council’s mission is to help working professionals achieve high company standards that protect their staff and their future business. All the hard work this company tirelessly performs is for the benefit of the public. The British Safety Council publicly acknowledge that they operate a culture in which things get done and they do so without taking any of the profits.

FENSA

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. Whenever a person or company replace or install any windows, doors and roof lights in dwellings in England and Wales, they must comply with the current thermal performance and Building Regulation standards and get a certificate from a Competent Person scheme such as FENSA. FENSA enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self-certify compliance under these Building Regulations without the need for a separate assessment from Building Control. They are one of the most successful of all competent person schemes to date in the UK, across all industries. Nearly 9,000 companies nationwide have joined FENSA which include glazing companies, builders, national and smaller home improvements companies, local authorities, housing associations and property developers. And here at Sash Windows, we are pleased to say that we include ourselves on that list as we know from experience that FENSA is a trustworthy, reliable company.

The Wood Window Alliance

The Wood Window Alliance legally source from sustainably-managed forests so that you know you are purchasing the most environmentally-friendly window frame you can buy. Not all wood windows are made to the same standards, which is why the Wood Window Alliance was formed. When you ask for Wood Window Alliance timber, you know your purchase will meet high quality and sustainability standards. The company’s members manufacture some of the most advanced, energy-efficient windows and doors available throughout the UK.

Constructionline

Constructionline are critical to connecting buyers and suppliers by making contracting simpler and customers achieve more. They build value from the start of the progress to the end, making it easy for their customers to optimise performance, minimise risk and realise opportunities. All the services constructionline offer are designed to assist people with their day to day activities. The company works with a selection of carefully chosen partners, to maximise the benefits they can bring to their customers.
