How it Works

The glass in your windows absorbs heat then radiates it again on the colder, outside, surface. Pilkington K Glass™ has a so-called low emissivity coating.

The low emissivity coating is a poor radiator of heat. So the heat absorbed by the coated glass does not travel across the air gap to the outer pane and the cold outside world. Instead the coating reflects the heat back into the room.

Sash Windows London Ltd incorporate Pilkington K Glass™ in our windows to allow heat from the sun through and keep heat inside, making it easier and more cost effective to keep buildings warm.

Noise Control

Pilkington Optiphon™ is an option we give to our customers in situations where there is excess noise from roads, rail, air traffic and other sources. It is the ideal choice of glass for sound control .  Using a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) specific interlayer, Pilkington Optiphon™ is a high quality acoustic laminated glass that offers excellent noise reduction.

Pilkington Optilam™ is produced by combining two or more sheets of glass with PVB interlayers, and it is this lamination that enables it to offer impact protection and safety.  By varying the number of layers and thickness of the glass, it can offer wide-ranging benefits and be used in various applications.
